In 2012 the FDA approved a silicone gel implant which is semisolid. The implants are filled with cohesive gel, made of cross-linked molecules of silicone which make them firmer and thicker than the traditional implant. This implant has been used in Europe for years.  It is a 5th generation implant.  This form stable breast implant was found to have a lower rupture rate, less capsular contraction, and found to maintain its shape over time.  It looks and feels more natural.  Unfortunately it is not for everyone.  It works best for those with little or no breast tissue.  Dr. Dennis Watkins has been performing breast implant surgery for over 25 years his experience is essential when deciding  just the right type of implant for you.
