This method will consist of your cosmetic surgeon taking a strip of tissue from an undetected area in the back of your head. From this strip of tissue, we extract individual hair follicles and implant them back into the problem area. Because we are able to extract more follicles in one session, this method is generally recommended for those who have more intensive balding. However, there is some scarring and manageable pain associated with this procedure.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
With this method, we extract the hair follicles individually and implant them in the problem areas. Because this method requires more involvement by your plastic surgeon, it is more time-intensive and more expensive. We usually recommend this treatment option for those who have minimal balding and selected problem areas because it involves less pain, less scarring, and more precision.
